Established in 1987, this scholarship honors the late Msgr. Henkes, who served as our Spiritual Advisor for 27 years. Applicants may attend any accredited Roman Catholic Seminary.
The scholarship is open to any resident of Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas who are enrolled in a Roman Catholic Seminary.
Congratulations to the 2023 Rev. Msgr. Albert George Henkes Seminarian Scholarship recipients, John Souder and Cuong Tran. Souder is from Maryville, Tennessee, and graduated in 2009 from the University of Notre Dame. He is currently in Theology III at Notre Dame Seminary, studying for the Diocese of Lake Charles. Tran, from Marrero, Louisiana, is in his last year of Theology at Notre Dame Seminary and studying for the Archdiocese of New Orleans.
Each were awarded $2,000 scholarships through The Rev. Msgr. Albert George Henkes Seminarian Scholarship Fund.
