It is rare for a child to lose both parents before reaching adulthood. If this happens to your family, Catholic Life provides support through the Orphan Benefit Program. This benefit provides eligible orphaned children of Catholic Life members a monthly income until they reach age 18. It is available at no additional cost to the member.

Families receive the following amounts each month:
One child $100
Two children $150
Three or more $200

Eligibility

To be eligible, the individual must be:

  • A minor, and
  • An orphan due to the death of both legal parents (the parents must both have been Catholic Life members at the time of their deaths).
The child must also be:
  • A Catholic Life member at the time of both of parents’ deaths and must continue this membership through age 18 at which time payment will stop.
