The Bishop’s Seminarian Endowment provides life insurance protection for Catholic bishops while building funds to educate future priests. When the Bishop dies, the proceeds of the certificate are automatically rolled into an endowment annuity to benefit the diocesan educational fund. This assures the diocese that there will always be funds available to educate future priests.
The average annual cost of a BSE certificate is $800-$1,500 and is paid for by Branches in their diocese that sponsor a Bishop. All deposits to the BSE certificates are placed in one endowment fund and allocated to certificates when needed.
